Although this years timetables are yet to be finalised, course selection is now finished. Any changes to student courses will now take place next year.

Subject Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs H. Smith.

Textile Technology

Students learn and develop skills, techniques and terminology to plan and manage practical projects in soft materials. Working from a brief students will be using the technological process to research, design and make a product that is ‘fit for purpose’ to meet the brief and specifications. Students will make at least 2 products, including a summer garment and a personalised, screen printed hoodie, through which they will learn sustainable and innovative practices. They will learn to use the sewing machines, over lockers, and other specialty machines in Textiles. This subject teaches students to engage their creative brain through experimentation and problem solving.
