Agricultural and Horticultural Science
This course has a balance of practical and theoretical content, based on the Horticulture and Agricultural industries. Students will be required to keep a garden plot on the school grounds. The course could also be of interest to Economics, Geography and Biology students.
Prior Learning
Prerequisite: 12 credits in Year 11AGH (not including 1.2 from Year 10 or the Unit Standard 21027)or 15 credits in Year 11 Science or at the discretion of the TIC.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Consumable equipment fee $10; two field trips; $20 (approx.)
Pathway
This pathway can lead to jobs in a wide range of sectors, such as: working with plants and animals, agricultural and horticultural industries, environmental science, research science and economics.
