Subject Description

Music

Prerequisite: 12 credits in Level 2 Music or by consultation with the HOD.
Co-requisite: Instrumental/vocal tuition with a qualified tutor (either through the school itinerant scheme, or through private lessons.)

This course gives students the opportunity to further specialise in areas of specific focus for them. To this end, they choose their own combination of composition / performance achievement standards (in consultation with the HOD Music). From there, students will have a reasonable amount of freedom in forming a course that best suits their musical abilities, and can also provide a sound foundation for those wishing to undertake tertiary music studies. All students will take 91422. During this course, students will have access to modern music technology.
NB: Voice is considered a performance instrument.
