Mathematics & Numeracy
In Year 11, all students must select either 11MAT or 11MATN. Your teacher will be able to direct you towards the best course of study for your Year 11 year. Your placement will be affirmed and communicated with you once Year 10 results have been reviewed by the department.
This course is designed to support students to achieved the NCEA Numeracy co-requisite (US 32406) and to provide a foundation for the Year 12 Statistics and Probability course. Topics will include Number, Measurement, Geometry, Statistics and Linear Algebra.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Approximately $30 to cover the cost of Maths workbooks.
A scientific calculator is required.
Pathway
Students making satisfactory progress in this subject may qualify to continue with 12STAT.
This will be assessed on a case by case basis, and is at the discretion of the HOD.
Credit Information
You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
Total Credits Available: 10 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 10 credits.
