Enterprise Studies

This course combines business theory and actual hands-on experience. All students are expected to participate in a team that runs a small business. 


Subject Overview

Term 1
Enterprise and entrepreneurship

We study New Zealanders who were inspired to run their enterprises.

Accounting
Why is accounting important in the business world? What is a double entry? Where does it come from?

Term 2
Business activity
Organising and running your business activity. We spend 4-5 weeks planning this activity.

Financial Literacy - what do I do with the money I make?
What is impulse buying? How do savings work? How do the share markets work?

Economics
An Introduction to the Circular Flow Model. A model that explains the key sectors and money flows of an economy.
